Pediatric Intensive Care

Our pediatric intensive care program is specifically designed for the rapid and effective neurological recovery of children with various neurological conditions. Using advanced and personalized methods such as Cuevas Medek Exercises (CME), Masgutova (MNRI), Galileo, Quantum Reflex Integration (QRI) and Occupational & Sensory Therapy, Neuroinsight offers children the chance to make significant progress in a much shorter period of time than conventional therapies.

Significant progress possibilities in a short time!

Our intensive intervention model is inspired by international best practices, including the results obtained at NAPA (Neurological and Physical Habilitation Center), where it has been demonstrated that interventions focused on short but repetitive periods can generate relevant functional improvements in a shorter period of time compared to continuous conventional therapies. Studies published by the NAPA Center (e.g. McIntyre et al., 2021) have shown a significant increase in gross motor scores (GMFM-66) in children with cerebral palsy after intensive 2-3 weeks blocks of personalized therapy.

Within Neuroinsight, each therapeutic protocol is individualized, having as its central element the Cuevas Medek Exercise (CME) method, adapted to the child’s neuromotor profile, his acquisition rate and the established therapeutic objectives. Although many pediatric patients can experience significant functional improvements after just two weeks of intensive care, it is essential to emphasize that the therapeutic response is highly dependent on variables such as the etiology of the neurological condition, chronological and developmental age, general medical status, and the degree of family involvement in the recovery process.

Intensive programs are recommended to be structured in several annual cycles, with a frequency established according to the child’s neurofunctional evolution, associated comorbidities and any planned medical or surgical interventions. Between intensive cycles, the maintenance and consolidation of progress is achieved through personalized follow-up programs – either at home or with the support of trained local therapists, to ensure neuroplastic continuity and optimization of long-term outcomes.

What does our intensive program look like?

At Neuroinsight, pediatric intensive care consists of 2 to 5 sessions per day for two consecutive weeks, with a weekend break. The program includes daily CME therapy sessions, and depending on the initial assessment, MNRI Masgutova, occupational and sensory therapy, as well as advanced technologies such as the Galileo Plate and QRI were added. The duration and intensity of the program are adapted to the age, diagnosis, physical capacity and goals set together with the family.
